Intel Core i3/i5/i7 & LGA-1156 Club & Discussion - Page 63

Another i5 came in yesterday. This one looks to be a little more promising and I also noticed that it seems to have ~1.2250v VID while my other i5's seem closer to ~1.250v. A quick LinPac stability test at 4.0Ghz with some reasonably low volts. I running without vdroop/LLC enabled and my board overvolts vcore to 1.329v load.

I noticed a lot of people using the 4.2 for QPI. Would it help to use the 4.8 setting? Or is it generally not recommended?

Nice guide foxhound.

thanks.

as for QPI..
I'd set it to 4.8 unless it affects stability. There isn't really a problem with it

thanks. I don't know why I find these things disturbing... hmm

edit:

just a little something about the PCB number. Mine says "200" and a guy here said its a golden chip. Here's why:

Quote:
This number on the PCB of the CPU is indicating (from my obsevations all these years that I'm "focusing" on it) the "place of the wafer" it was cuted....Propably the LOWEST (closed to 00) the TWO LAST numbers are, the "centered of the wafer" it was cuted...
For example: LAST TWO numbers.....000, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700 and so on....
FIRST 15 numbers are the best....for example2: 012, 005, 009, 104, 113, 202, 215, 205, 314, 304, 406, 412, 601, 609, 712, 703, etc....
These 2 LAST numbers should be closest to "00" LIKE: 001, 713, 404, NOT 478, 656 and so on....

At least that's what I have observed by searching all these years....

Where do you find the PCB number ?

Im struggling to get mine over 3.88, at one stage i left prime95 running for about 4 hours and 1 of the workers stopped but it was all going so well until then. So i tried tweaking some other things and ended up having to reset my cmos

Gonna have to start again now

What settings are you using?

edit:
for the PCB number, look at the bottom. See the "200" at the end?

It is hard to tell from that picture... but it looks like it ends in 280?

I've been pushing this chip a little further... I'd like to get a socket 1156 adapter for my Swiftech GTZ water block then maybe I could try for 4.2Ghz. Temps with Linpac are getting harder to control with air.

It's 200.

8 looks like the 8 in that, the 0s have a X in the middle of them.

60c is fine, you're good up to about 85.
