google ... On another note in cpu-z when my processor starts loading my core voltage goes from 1.264v to 1.28v can I limit the amount it will raise while under a load?

Google doesn't give tech tips..

anyway, because linx/IBT generally makes the CPU hotter than P95 does, people usually guess it's more stressful/better than 95 cause it's faster/makes it hotter.

There is a lot of misinformation about IBT.

The general consensus is that because it makes the CPU hotter its a better test. This is completely false.

IBT is only designed to test if you're within thermal spec. In terms of testing stability it does nothing.

Personally, I've passed a 3 hour burn test using all of my memory, and then failed 5 minutes into Orthos blend.

On the other hand, I've never heard of someone passing a 10+ hours Orthos/Prime 95 and failing IBT.

The only way that could happen is if they are too close to TJmax, and the extra heat from IBT causes the computer to lock up.

Well I ran 2 hours of prime blend at 3.8ghz with 1.248v idle and 1.264v load it started storming just now so I figured I would stop it. Anyway 2 hours seems fine for me right now.. maybe ill bump it to 3.9ghz later.. Temps reached 68c max.. Actually I may try to lower the voltage on that some more idk.. I am loving this processor versus my 4400 x2 though!

What is the air temperature in the room where you are running your computer? If it is at or under 75F/24C you might want to either try reseating your Cooler Master Hyper N520 or try a Prolimatec Megahalems with at least one 2000 rpm 120x25mm fan (maybe two). I suspect you can do better at moving the heat from the CPU with a better heatsink and fan. You might be able to lower temps by 5 or 6C with the change to a Megahalems.

I just got one to see if it works better for me than my current Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme Rev.C.
