There is a lot of misinformation about IBT.
The general consensus is that because it makes the CPU hotter its a better test. This is completely false.
IBT is only designed to test if you're within thermal spec. In terms of testing stability it does nothing.
Personally, I've passed a 3 hour burn test using all of my memory, and then failed 5 minutes into Orthos blend.
On the other hand, I've never heard of someone passing a 10+ hours Orthos/Prime 95 and failing IBT.
The only way that could happen is if they are too close to TJmax, and the extra heat from IBT causes the computer to lock up.
