Well, it's a no go. I'm about to uninstall the 9800GT, and see if I can still fold properly on the ATI, cuz I can't even get folding working on my 5870 now...

I can confirm the newest nvidia drivers work

But i still cant get the card to fold without it connected to a monitor

Yeah, I think that was my issue as well. I'll maybe try that tomorrow, and see what happens. I really got to say, I like the folding ability of the nVidia cards so much that I want this to work bad.

Strange, I don't even have to extend a desktop to get my NV card folding.

Have you tried the console client?

No combination of -gpu 0 and -gpu 1 would work, but with each try the card on -gpu 0 worked, so I tried -gpu 0 on both, and voila, they're both folding like crazy.

i.e. here's the shortcut for nvidia:

C:\\FoldingGPUnVidia\\Folding@home-Win32-GPU.exe -gpu 0 -forcegpu nvidia_g80

And ATI's:

C:\\FoldingGPUATI\\Folding@home-Win32-GPU.exe -gpu 0 -forcegpu ati_r700

The 5850 is in the bottom slot and the 8800GT is up top btw. The 5850 is my primary across two monitors. I had the HDMI port of the ATI and the DVI port of the nVidia connected to the same monitor, but I have the DVI monitor disconnected. I am running the latest ATI drivers 10.4 and the latest (beta) nVidia drivers 197.57. I'm also running Physx 10.02.22_9.10.0222 and (of course) the 1.03 Physx mod the latter of which may be helping.

As the instructions in the Physx mod suggest, try clicking Detect in the Screen Resolution control panel to get a "dummy" monitor to be picked up by the nVidia.

ok ran into a wall here I had my 275 cranking out the ppd but I tried to get my 5850 to fold along side it. following the guide my 5850 folds fine but now the 275 is instant nan (stock clocks recommended 185.85 driver) I found this very odd so I pulled up gpuz and all the computing boxes are unchecked. I fairly sure I need cuda to fold with so how do I get these features enabled?

ps nivdia is really ticking my off atm the whole lets disable features cuz you are using a competitors card is bs.

Try using the newest nVidia drivers; it seems they allow ATi and nVidia GPUs to work/fold together.

I just found this guide, didn't know this was possible before, but now I'm seriously considering to buy an additional GPU to help folding (since ATI sucks atm). I'm thinking of something along the lines of gtx470/480, but I'm wondering if my PSU could handle both cards?
