Windows 7 Pro x64 Tages Protection Driver

Is there a particular game you're having trouble with?

I read that this update to version 5.5 should work.

But in general, it appears as if current versions are incompatible with Windows 7.

I was also getting this driver incompatibility system error upon starting Windows. Obviously, I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium x64. I was not aware of loading Tages so it was must have been loaded with a program I've installed. Though I never had any luck in the past with this, I decided to go ahead and click the "Check for solutions online" button on the Program Compatibility Assistant window. It suggested I visit the Mfg website and look for an updated driver. Meanwhile I googled Tages Protection and found this post.

As [PWN]SniperWolf stated, version 5.5 is compatible with x64. Specifically, if you visit http://www.tagesprotection.com/5.5/TagesSetup_x64.exe you can get the latest driver.

I still wonder what software I've installed that uses this copy protection software though. Especially because I haven't noticed any problems with any games or apps running.

I first noticed the message after installing Civ 5.

However I'd also installed HL2 (orange box), Call of Duty 2, Alien Breed: Impact, and Metro 2033 recently. (Note: a lot of Steam products.) Steam of course is an indirect kind of copy protection.

As generally I think that copy protection is stupid, as it only affects legitimate customers, I'm delighted that a copy protection driver won't work.

@Justa: Thanks for that information -- solved my problem perfectly. It was SilverLight that caused the problem.
