Bios update failed; no POST

I have a MSI K8N NEO FSR motherboard. I just did the bios update with winflash, it failed, and now my comptuer won't post. Do I have to RMA it? And yes... winflash was one of the options offered by MSI so it's their fault it didn't work.

when i worked for asus, and someone did this, we had em just pull the bios chip out of the socket, and ship it to us in antistatic packaging, and for a $35 fee, theyd reflash it on a EEPROM burner and ship it back to you, UNLESS the chip itself was bad, then they made ya buy a new chip too!

but if ya know someone that has access to a chip burner, just d/l the bios ya want, put it on floppy, give em that and ur bios chip, and let em flash it for u

i saw a site on time that sold bios backup chips. you could check on that.

this product (ioss bios savior) will reinstall the bios but you need a copy of it to reinstall so it is really designed to have before you try a flash. maybe if someone you know has the same board you could make this work. just wanted to present an option if you have no other ideas.

article about product. http://www.frozencpu.com/bio-03.html?id=gm2pUNB9

product for sale.http://www.frozencpu.com/bio-03.html?id=gm2pUNB9

there may be a place online where you can buy new bios chip as well.

The motherboard I have in my main rig has gigabyte duel bios. Do you think there is any way I could install the corrupted bios in my backup slot and flash it?

EDIT: nevermind; my duel bioses are soldered to the board

EDIT2: Well can't I still just RMA the whole motherboard? It's their fault it didn't work anyway...

The purpose of dual bios is so you can switch if a flash goes wrong. Look in your motherboard manuel on how, on my board I hold f9 when I powerup and this automatically switchs to the second bios chip.

You can get a new chip from here, or you can just RMA it.

OK, well it looks like I will be doing the RMA with MSI. Too bad I can't just get the bios chip replaced but that would cost me $20 more; so I'll just get the whole board replaced. Too bad though because there is nothing wrong with it
