i dont know why or how. i had to bump voltage .04 and qpi .05 to stable linX

prime blend? because you need to run through all the tests. It's not the length of time you run prime because that doesn't matter. You can run through the same test on prime95 for 100 hours and still be unstable when you try another instruction set.

BTW, I'm not bashing the point of 20 pass Linx or how anybody does their testing. You can do 1 pass and call that stable for all I care.

But when there is a club about 100% stability, I would expect at least one loop of prime95 blend (9 hours or so) would also be in that situation. Because 100% stability is just that. 100%. There have been reports of people being stable in Linx but not prime and stable in prime but not Linx. Either way that is not 100% stability. Stability in both is 100% stability.

You might say, then where does that end. Lets throw in a third stress program. Let's throw in memtest. Let's make it 21 pass Linx. Let's throw in Crysis gaming, etc. But these 2 (linx and prime) are fine because at the heart of stability testing, 99.9% of people stress test with prime95 or Linx (or some form of IBT, etc.)

Also, maybe I was put off by the OP's disclaimer, "this is not an easy club to join. this is exclusive."... and then I see 3 bolded statements expecting 3 sets of stress programs, but it is only 20 pass linx. lol

Well its the ops rules sence hes taking the time to update it and for me i like prime95 the best memtest is useless it seems my memory was passing error free but i was getting bsod in windows till i rasied my ioh to 1.24 and qpi to 1.37 running my memory at 1909mhz.

I dont want to tick anyone off here, but only 20 passes of LinX (Max Problem size) to be considered 100% stable?

I use LinX for sure to test stability, but I ran it for more than 4 hours, something like 200 passes or something and it was 100% stable, no errors.... and I was upset I couldn't let it run a full 24 Hours due to time constraints.

But only 20 Passes? Should be easy peasy for anyone?

Edit: And I will join your club here in a min, let me get off work and Run LinX for a few hours and will post back.

gentlemen,
i am not trying to say this is the right way to do it. the man who started this thread had a great idea! it was back in 09 sometime... so this may have been the way to do it back then.

either way, i am simply following what the rules are for this thread, and respecting it. If you dont agree, feel free to start your own thread with what you'd like to see. like i said i have ran prime for 12 hours "blend", which in that time as ran through ALL the different "BLEND" tests. i did this at lower volts... and when i tried LinX.... it failed after 2 pass. (my first time using linX by the way) Also.. linX gave about 5-8 degrees celcius higher in temps then prime!!

This is when i was determined to join this club, and follow the rules according to the thread. im sorry everyone who thinks this is not the right way, by all means if its a easy club to join according to you, just run linx in the background when you sleep and print the screenshot, call it another thread.

i thought the same... so i tried this new program, "linX" and found my prime stable settings errored... after some time and a few higher volts, not by much, i came to this.

yes i have gone through 3dvantage overnight, prime 12 hours, a few $ extra in electric bills, and this, linX. that's 3 different tests, i hope some will agree with me this is enough tests for an average stable system.

i only test for stability because the last thing i want is to leave my allies hanging when my computer BSOD i'd careless if my CPU died in 3 years. i'll just buy a i8, 10 core 20 thread by then anyways... good luck to anyone who tackles this. if you think your system is stable, by all means run this simple program, only 1 and a half hour to complete, you can do it during a movie.

thanks everyone who took the time to read what i had to say

for the hell of it lol

Edit:

1) This was done at 30c amb temp

2) I also ran 36 hours of prime to insure this test was accurate and IMO it is
