"Official" Gigabyte GA-MA790X(T)(A)-UD4P Owners Club and Thread! - Page 101

Okay people. I've been holding out with you guys and gals using the MA790XT-UD4P.

I was contacting Mushkin about the 996805 ram and I got a BIOS that wasn't released on there main website, it allowed me to run 7-8-7-20-1T @ 1666Mhz using the x6.66 Multi

I've been using this BIOS for a good 2 months and I haven't had any issues with it. F8E had some funky screw up with my OC. And yes I did flash it correctly.

This is F8D BIOS also.

Awesome, I wonder what this one brings
According to Gigabyte: Fix audio noise issue while running ET6 in Win7
There may be a few new unmentioned features (F8E brought a few new options when pressing ctrl + F1) so I'm going to flash the new BIOS and see what happens.

I just thoroughly tested out this BIOS and this is what I found:
- During POST, "memory information" now displays the correct memory speed (i.e. if your memory multiplier is x5.33 which would nominally show DDR3-1066, at 302FSB x 5.33 it should now say the correct 1609mhz).
And this would I think be the most important thing of the new BIOS:
- Restart issues when using the x7 or x8 northbridge multipliers have been fixed.
- Restarts using both NB multipliers were tested using restarts after saving & exiting the BIOS, exiting the BIOS without saving, and restarting from Windows.
- People using older BIOS's may have the issue of getting a string of restarts after exiting the BIOS without saving (or ocassionaly, after saving), and restarting from Windows, when running on a high FSB with northbridge multipliers x7 or x8. People with this issue do not get this problem during cold boots.

- New hidden options when pressing Ctrl+F1
- In the "Advanced BIOS options" screen:
- Boot-up floppy seek
- Boot-up numlock
- Delay for HDD (Secs)
- In the "Memory timings" screen:
- DQS Training Control (Skip or perform)
- CKE Power Down
- Memlock tri-stating
- Bank Swizzle Mode

Sounds like a good BIOS release from Gigabyte then. I have no problems with my current one so I'll just stick with my F7.

One more thing: F8E is still on the site, suggesting this may be more of an F9A than an F8F
They also still have not fixed the "core temperatures" being 10-12 degrees lower than actual temperatures on the 1055T, but the "CPU temperature" is pretty much the same thing so it's not a huge problem.

This stuff has been there since F7. I'm on F8D right now and it even has it. It isn't new
