I have been the proud owner of a GA-MA790XT-UD4P for about a month and a half now. Very pleased with it. It replaced a XFX 720i board I had.
I have not had a lot of time to do much with it but I can offer the following info on it (I am at work and away from my rig):
: GA-MA790XT-UD4P (I guess I already mentioned that...)
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Quad Core Processor - 3.40GHz, Socket AM3, 6MB Cache, 2000MHz (4000 MT/s) FSB - HDZ965FBGIBOX
: Corsair Dual Channel 4096MB PC12800 DDR3 1600MHz Memory (2 x 2048MB) - TW3X4G1600C9DHX
: Cooler Master Hyper N520 CPU Cooler
I have not really done any OC'ing to really say "Ok, I have got what I wanted!". I did do a down and dirty (quickie) OC of the multiplier. I took it up to x18.5 for a stable 3.7Ghz BUT
as I said, this was just something re3al quick and just to get a feel of my new CPU. I previously had an Athlon II X4 620 in it but decided to use that CPU to build a system for my son and I gopt myself a 965 instead!
I am waiting on a couple of new PMW 92mm fans for the cooler and I will be doing some lapping of both the CPU and the heatsi9nk. Once I do that I will then start OC'ing a bit. I am not hard core but I would like to see how far I can get with what I have on hand.
The only other thing I have planned for it is to "maybe" get myself a Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme, Rev. C (unless I can somehow get my hands on a 3Rsystem Iceage 120 Boss II)
and tack on a couple of Yate Loon's to it. But I will be getting my feet wet with what I have on hand right now.
Gimme a couple of days here to do the lapping and such and then I can come back with some benchmarks and such. What benchmarking would be best to post here?
