"Official" Gigabyte GA-MA790X(T)(A)-UD4P Owners Club and Thread! - Page 92

What bios was he on? f8d got me to 330 fsb and f8c to around 325... Still really shoddy cold boot clocks. And a lack of nb/ht multipliers which is very strange.

F8d, huh. I wonder if I should try it, I just hate losing all of my preset BIOS configs.

As far as issues with my board, it has some problems cold booting with certain multiplier + HTT speeds. I let the board do it's thing though.

Also RR, is there an option to disable turbo core in the BIOS and does it work? People are reporting all sorts of problems with it on other boards, not turning off and then also keeping the voltage spikes in place once it's turned off (the voltage with turbo increases about 5%).

Interesting too is that the turbo core seems to set the multiplier to 16.5, so if you could set the turbo core to all cores somehow (maybe change a registry value in AMD overdrive), could you access the 16.5x multiplier on the 1055T?

Yes, disable Cool N' Quiet and Core Performance to disable turbo.
I was planning to get 1090T but since 1055T looks to be in the similar price range to the 965 I`ll give it a go. I`ve had the FSB/HTT as high as 223 before but this was with much higher multipliers.
I'm not too intent on disabling Cool'N'Quiet to disable Turbo, but I wouldn't mind that much at all going back to K10Stat and custom CNQ. So you say the voltage spikes only happen with Turbo on?

I've figured out a fairly good purchase plan btw:
-Find some way to quickly make $240
-Buy Phenom II 1055T (-$237)
-Sell Phenom II 965 (+$170)
-Buy 4GB new RAM (-$110)
-Sell existing 4GB (+$90)
-Buy remaining 4GB (-$110)
-$40 left - buy me a webcam?

On or off it's all over the place. C&Q is never off, just can't do that right now. Someone messed up the micro code

D'you think we could report this and request a new BIOS?
Otherwise, how much do you think a 790XT-UD4P would sell for? I can make $140 for a new mobo a bit quicker than the full $200 for just a 1055T. I'm planning to go 890GX if I have to but if the 790XTA has better support then I'll go for that.

Every manufacturer is in the same boat atm. You can try but I suspect the bios team has their hands full. Give it a go because I would love to see the 1055 stretch it's legs on the gigabyte

And I would love to have six cores of video rendering power up from the usual four
Has anyone ever tried out G.Skill Eco with this board? I would love to run 8GB of it at 1600mhz even if it was at the default 7-8-7-24 settings
Unfortunately this board is pretty much going to end up forcing me to overclock the G.Skill Eco though because RAM spec can't go below 1.5v so oh well

1055T works and OCs nicely on this board. I seem relatively solid at 3.7GHz right now undervolted.

The only thing to note is that you must underclock the ram to overclock the chip. I can't post above 800MHz DDR2 when the FSB is greater than 260MHz.
