If they fully know that you can get a similar or a better result with one card compared to getting an SLI with 2 cards, you think they would be willing to buy you the more expensive parts?

If their willing to spend $1000 on video cards, money is not a problem for them

Wow you must come from a rich family then. If my parents knew that I could get the same amount of result as having with 2 graphics card, they wouldn't buy me SLI.

In a way, you are a lucky kid.

Haha It's not your money right? So basically what you're saying is, if your parents go poor, lose their house (that you're living in), have to sell everything they own, it won't be a problem to you because it's only their money, not yours, and you're a seperate entity where your parents problem don't affect you no matter what happens. Right?

Instead of wasting $460 on old technology, you can pay $20 or so more and get the latest piece out there with all the extra special features, and in ONE CARD. Having one alone also saves you money on the electricity bill. At the end you pay the same toll to take the dirt road over the paved road, only to get to the same place.
you miss read what i posted it would cost me $280 for 2x 6800GTs and $460+ for a 7800GTX

I think he's using that as an example ^^.

SLI is a waste of money since it only gives you like a 20% increase in performance.
Very nice!
