I cannot get it past 2.4Ghz myself. I have no idea how he's managed to get 3.1... I guess it's just the luck of the draw.

I couldn't get my 3400 to 2.4 with my memory at 1to1. I put the memory at 166 and I have 20% overclock now at 2.4 now and this is clawhammer and they don't overclock well at all

humm i guess i need to do a bios flash then... like i said off the shelf computer, bios is locked at the set speed, (ie, no adjustment in the settings) i need a clock that works in the windows enviorment. or i need a bios update for an MSI amythest-m motherboard. i have a HP Pavilion a1250n it is stock with the msi board and only thing i added is an X850XT PCIE card and 1GB of pc3200 ram , to bring it to a total of 2 gigs. the main board is made by MSI but its a wholesale verison, so finding info on it is becoming a pain lol. thanks for any help on this

Maybe if I drop the FSB on the DDR? I'll try that and up the FSB on the CPU.

Boom. Stable at 2.7ghz. Temps are a bit high at 38C Idle. Even with the watercooling. Then again, the watercooling doesn't seem to help much. It was 30C at idle at stock clock. and 28C with my AMD AIR cooling. Im unhappy with this KingWin Water system.
