what card would compare with a xb360 - Page 2

Straight from the X360 site, the r580 in the X360 specs:

500 MHz core frequency
48 Vector ALU
48 Scalar ALU
16 Texture Fetch Units
16 Interpolation Units
16 Vertex Vetch Units with programmable tessellation
Dedicated shader control flow unit
Custom high-speed EDRAM

the X1900XTX specs:

650 MHz core frequency
48 Vector ALU
48 Scalar ALU
16 Texture Fetch Units
16 Interpolation Units
16 Vertex Vetch Units with programmable tessellation
Dedicated shader control flow unit
GDDR3 RAM

sooo... its a no brainer.

Guy you didnt see where i wrote the head ati guy said..............

you like doing searches right. Search for the interviews. Its a post lauch interview and they're comparing the actual ati 360 gpu to the listed specs of sonys gpu.

And unless you can determine what the custom specs are. You've proved nothing by posting specs.

Even by those specs they kill sli 6800's

Looking at the 360 in shops... I'm not too impressed. I didn't like it anywhere near as a 7800GTX... I thought my home setup looked better for games... The 360 just seemed to have lots of AA and AF, and everything seemed to unrealistically shiney. But hey, I've never really played one for a long time.

first gen games. although the games dont do it justice. 360 is a serious piece of graphical hadware. The processor alone could make any naysayers ****. 3.2ghz triplecore. I dont really give a crap if it is made by microsoft. At least im smart enough to know they ARE the richest compnay in the world. And they CAN afford to give us a $400 machine thats worth thousands.

A sony ps3 dev was fired for saying that the ps3 will have nothing on the 360 (and hes helping design the damn thing) just keep in mind its using a gpu based off your touted 1900xtx killer g70. That goes to show you how powerfull of a gpu is in the 360.

Wait for gears of war. Halo 3 even. Hell next month's ghost recon will blow your socks off.

Im not really biased towards anyone company. Nor am i a fanboy. But i know what better to waste my money on. While you guys spend money on gpu's more expensive than an xbox 360. Are you really getting your moneys worth. Consoles dont depreciate as fast as gpu's do and they get better with age.

Now thats something to think about.

And while sony wants to rule the world by making everything into a million different little memory cards..........they making really dumb buisness moves. They're not gonna last if they keep this crap up. Especially with compatibility problems with other sony products. Hell i use my psps hooked to my 360 all the time. Thats the way things should be, universal.

So guys give ms their props for bringing these systems at their own expense. Although they do it for a cause of their own (ruling the internet/world) im fine with it as long as i get this wonderful toys at reasnable prices.

Anyways, the GPU on the eXcrementBOX360 can't be compared accuretly with anything on the marked at the moment. In terms of graphical power I say it is greater than (a little) or equal than a x1900xtx. These first round of games do not look impresive, but that is to be expected. As developers get more experienced with the hardware we will start seeing better graphics.

Just what I said... You can't compare the XBOX360 GPU with any current graphics card.
On another note, seeing as how innovative and powerful the Xenos is we can expect to see really good things from ATI in the future.

***? Yeah right. The rsx on the ps3 is basically a 7800GTX512 with 256mb, it's more powerful then two 6800ultras in sli and can put out almost twice the polygon/sec of the xbox 360 gpu. Though real world performance will be pretty equal.

Maybe one thousand. On another thread we talked about how you can get a pc for 1k that will beat the 360 in performance.
