Alternative power for 6800?

Thread Starter
I was wondering if this would work before I bought my 6800 Ultra.

Could I just use some other power supply to power my 6800 and keep my one in my computer instead of buying better power supply.

Yeah, you can go ahead, just make sure it has enough amps to support the draw of the Ultra.

Well do you have an extra PSU lying around that can pump out like 22A or more on the 12V rail? The 6800 Ultra is ridiculous when it comes to how much power it uses.

I just can't use a 230 psu just specically power it and use my other 230 psu to power my motherboard?
