Flashed to 5500 but says 5200LE

Hi,

I have a FX5200 that I flashed to a 5500 following the tutorial on this site. However when I boot back into windows, it finds it as a 5200LE not a 5500. Anyone know what the problem is? Although the clock and memory speeds have increased from the original.

Are you using Rivatuner...it makes the deception that your card is and is not...
Otherwise...you didn't flash it right

I don't think it's possible to not flash it right, it is very straight forward. I used this bios:

Is your 5200 128meg or 256meg?

The bios that you flashed TO is for a 128meg card, so if yours is 256meg then thats the problem.

Also, is your 5200 made by gigbyte? You used a gigabyte bios which may have messed up the flash. If your card is not made by gigabyte then look for the 5500 bios for the company that makes your 5200. 5500NU means regular 5500 if you didnt know, so make sure that the bios is labelled as 5500 or 5500NU.

I also have this problem. Flashed the bios using the one from this site's guide and after flashin' it shows in windows that it is FX5200 LE and 64 MB!

I have ASUS GeForce FX5200 V9520 Magic 128 MB.

I know that the manufacturer isn't the same - mine ASUS and the new one - Gigabyte but that guy who wrote that flashin' guide wrote that it doesn't matter and should work.

I did a backup of my old bios of course but I'm wondering if anybody could help me with finding some ASUS FX5500 BIOS - maybe that would work properly.

BTW - core and memory frequency values went up a bit - from 250/400 to 300/500 Mhz, but i guess that it won't give me any performance boost since the detected memory size dropped to 64 MB.
