OC Sempron SI-42

I'm using one of the cheap-o notebooks from Wal-Mart (the $299 deal) while I'm at school and I'm looking to increase the CPU speed by just a little. I've already set up a nice little fan cooling system, though the unit produces little heat anyway.

Unfortunately, I can't access the BIOS options. Is this because it's an HP?

If so, is there a workaround or stock BIOS I can use/download?

Any tips for this noob would be appreciated.

You could download clockgen, or there may be a program available dedicated to OCing that netbook - I overclocked my eee PC using eeectl. Be very carefuk with voltage and temps, it may only have cost $299, but you still don't want to fry it

Ok, need some serious help here..

The only software that will work with my BIOS (since I cant get to it directly) is nVidia's performance tools. Not the best solution, but I get a few hundred mhz out of it. Heat is not an issue. I'm at a happy 70 degrees.

Only problem is I can't add voltage so I get locked up after about 2 minutes of software overclocking. I can play with the FSB all I want but my CPU isn't getting what it needs.

I'm thinking software, but what can change a Sempron on a Wistron motherboard?

Any help would be appreciated.

if you want to overclock it you will need this k10 stat you change voltages n **** through it and cpu z to monotor what you have done and also hwmonitor monitor the heat very easy to oerclock it but dont bump it up to high they do get hot fast. and aim for like 2.5ghz to 3.5 ghz

use k10stat bro you can controll the volts through that and cpu z to monotor it
