theoretical build

well, with all these low prices for the holidays, I figure I'd spend some theoretical money that I don't have. What do you guys think this build would rate (out of 10):

3700+ and A8N - 330
600watt psu and SLi 7800gt - 600
SoundBlaster X-fi - 120
Thermaltake Cooler - 60
Antec P180 - 100
OCZ Platinum Rev2 (2x512mb) - 150
2x Artic Cooler NV5 - 62
DVD Burner - 40
2x (in Raid0) WD 80GB HDs - 108

Total - $1570 US(after all rebates)

If you can find a better price, point me in the right direction!
Let's try and make the best bang for the buck (read:find deals)!!!!

personally i thinlk buying sli when you build makes no sense. wait until the one 7800gt struggles a bit then get another for 200-250. one will do just fine for now. or if you really wanna pay 600 then get a gtx 512mb and sli it in 6-12 months for another 300-350. a single 512 will hold its own against the sli gt's.

thing is that the 600 gets the psu as well...so it's a good deal, and that's what I'm after...the best deal possible
also, if I OC the 7800gt's with the artic coolers on them, I should be able to destroy some 7800 gtx 512mb's....maybe?

yeah but you could get one 7800gt and a psu for $400 or less. i am personally against buying sli at once. i think it should be purchased as an add on once a single card isnt cutting it. i wouldnt think you were and idiot for going that route but imo a better deal is one card plus seperate psu. there is also the evga deal for $400 that is a 7800gt and sli mobo.

i forgot about those...maybe a keyboard, mouse, and monitor are a good thing maybe...

those links unfortunately don't add much in savings since you have to buy the cpu seperately

Although I agree with you on SLI at once isn't the best deal, even a year from now 7800gtx 512s aren't gonna be that cheap look how long the 256gtxs have been out and they are still over 450.
