is it possible to mod the x700 at all .... or do you need to buy the specific card in order to do it?

i belive you can flash it to a pro or maybe higher depending on its memory bandwidth. The person to talk to about ATI cards is Sphere.

I doubt it pretty much... x700 has DDR memory, while the x700 Pro/XT has GDDR3. Unless your x700 is AGP, it could be possible to flash it to a x700 Pro, cause the AGP x700 Pro has DDR memory, but you will need to reach 425/475 clocks. That's more that 200Mhz OC for the memory.

Same case, GDDR2 - GDDR3; unless you can find a x700 pro bios for GDDR2 memory and reach those clocks, then you could probably flash it, but IMO it's not even worth it. Just overclock it.

not sure that's a good idea ... it seems like my drivers are unstable ... i'm using omega now .... but when i tried with the ati drivers they used to lock up so i'd have to restart .... and i don't think i can get all that much speed out of my ram it will only clock like 30 mhz or so ....... guess i need to run a few more tests.

Theres no such thing as 'GDDR2'. Theres DDR, DDR2, and GDDR3. NO GDDR2.

Why bother flahing the BIOS? just OC it as you would anyway.

I'll agree there. Unless u unlock Pipeline or something like that there is basically no point 2 flashing your card besides the fact that the PC will now show the card as a Pro, XT or whatever. I know 4 a Fact that my card that i have can handle the XT speeds but i don't flash it because it ain't worth it.

Thats just my 2 cents
