That board will not fit into your HP case, nor will any other motherboard that's not manufactured by HP.

The case will not have standard ATX mounting holes, i bet the I/O Shield is welded to the case aswell.

On just about all I/O shields are tacked on and hard to get off wit out bendin the metal

Unless you want the drill new riser holes for the mobo and cut the spot weld's off with a dremel i would get a new case

You don't HAVE to re install. You can do a repair and it will work most of the time. Sometimes it just won't do it. I would try a repair first.

the ports on your motherboard that stick out of the case...i/o or input/output

and i have changed mobos 4 times and never had to reinstall windows, just repair it...

my friend changed the mobo on his dell system with no issues.

oh yeah i think tehre are little tacks on the sides, but they look easy to take out because they are the size of a tip of a pen

oh, would the rectangular hole in the back where the "i/o" sheild is be the same size for all mobos?
