My sequence of events for anyone interested, after having done cable management once mobo was removed. Messy line of TIM, eh? I smudged a bit I was trying to wipe off. You can also see how the fan surround is touching the ram and you can see how high the fan is, there's a gap between fan and top of HS. But I'm getting idle of 21c now, still a fantastic 10c drop,( had 18 to 19c earlier with side off) and will remove the side fan or even turn it into an exhaust fan to drop it lower. I don't think the side fan helps at all as an intake, just makes things worse. Gotta get rid of the fugly ribbon cables and get some round ones instead.

Is that the new AMD Socket AM2 / AM3 Bolt-Thru-Kit Rev.2? If so, where did you get it?

litte deja vu...

lap/washer mod is gonna get you the value for your money. otherwise cheaper $40 hdt coolers will perform similarly to your $70 beast

Heh yeah, I posted my excitement at one or two popular forums.
I suppose lapping or whatever the washer mod is would improve it, but without any modding, I've seen reviews with comparisons to other coolers where the 120 still has lower temps. I'm certainly curious though how much drop I could gain from lapping.

This is the Rev C which allows me to install it facing rear exhaust which apparently earlier versions didn't allow. Got it from overclockers.co.uk.

Lol yeah, tight fit. I love that red fan. I'm going to buy a red or blue LED fan at some point, maybe even have a push pull with 2 x LED, maybe one red and one blue.
