hey guiys im back....partly...so I have an old computer that I want to upgrade. MY old hpa250n has a p4sd-la motherboard and a northwood ht 2.6 cpu. *only 2 things still oem* everything else is upgraded and changed. But do you know if the p4sd-la supports prescotts or not? since when i looked it up uit didnt look like it did. Also does anyone know where they still sell northwoods NEW 3.2ghz with ht...thanks

I believe that board should support Prescotts. It uses the Intel 865G chipset, which is Prescott friendly. The only wildcard is if the BIOS will allow it. Take a quick check in your BIOS. If it has options for a 200 MHz clock or an 800 MHz FSB, you should be good to go.

I found an interesting article on overclocking that mobo, which you can find here.

LoL my mom has that same setup your talking about,
a 2.6 northy
an Asus P4SD-LA

I used CPUCool and i got it to 2.95, but it froze after a while, (300w crap stock PSU didnt help)

I think the bios should allow it, though it doesnt have a clock section like you mentioned Taeric. Your best chance would be trying to find a bios to flash it to for full prescott support.
