If not I'd be glad to take it off your hands for what you paid for it.

Btw if you get a DD block, make sure you get one with a copper top! Lucite will crach with sub zero coolant and don't forget about the dielectric grease! You could get -20C (or lower) coolant temps with that thing, I hope you have a metal pump! Plastic ones shatter at low temps went through three before I learnt my lesson.
Does Dow corning 5compound Dielectric grease work to put on your Cpu pin sockets? Im having trouble finding some for my PhaseChange project im going to start.

Yes that will work just fine.

Now while I haven't tried it myself, I know of many who used vaseline (petrol jelly) with excellent results.

Do you guys have any idea what could be wrong? I'd like to fix it and make it work for cheap, but I dont wanna waste hundreds of dollars on it..

I figure if it needs re-charged or whatever, that would probably be cheap..
But what about if hte compressor is shot? That would prolly cost $100 + im guessing..

And now I think I may be stuck with it.. The receipt I have says all sales are final! But imma talk with the owner tommorow..

Im getting ready to go hook it up again and leave it plugged in for a hour to see if anything happens..

edit: I guess the important thing to add would be why I got it soo cheap.. The guy who sold it to me said a customer 'knocked it off the shelve' and broke the plastic on it and bent the fan shroud..
But while I had it ripped apart I saw that the compressors mounting tabs were completly sheared off adn the compressor is moved about 4 inches away from where it should be.. Although all the pipes are in perfect condition with no creases

Yeah, I'd see what happens. What part are you touching again?

The compressor really is either going to work or it's not. If you hear it humming and pumping along, it's fine. The compressor itself could be leaking though, or have completely leaked out the charge, if you say that it's been damaged (something forceful enough to snap the mounting tabs could have also damaged a seal somewhere). Yeah, and as Burn pointed out, do make sure you're checking the temperature of the evaporator, not the condensor... My offer still stands to take it off your hands if you can't or don't wanna jack with it Trying to get started on my own cooling project and parts are surprisingly difficult to find... And mine is more internal since I'm planning to direct-die phase change, so if the compressor has leaked it's charge, it just saves me the trouble of illegally venting it into the atmosphere.

just run by a SEARS or something and ask if they have any of last year's models in the basement...they'll get you some good deals if you talk to the manager there too.

my theory is never by used unless you know it works already...next time, have them hook it up and make sure it works in the store Good luck with your return!

I'l sell it for what I got it for plus shipping, i'd imagine you'd want me to rip it down to the bare essentials?

That is if I can't get it working or get a refund on it (hell if you really want it that bad, i'l sell it to you if I can't get it working and not try to refund it lol) If your seriouse i'l take some good pics for ya
