hey arl i think your mobo can handle it much better, MSI has oddities in it. Such as in my bios, it says the limits for Vmem is 1.8-2.4 but when I try to choose the voltage it goes from 2.5-3.3 so i dunno

MSI is like that, dunno bout other manufactures that might have different setting presets but mine doesnt
Bigger #'s equal looser timings... which is better for overclocking. Set it manual to the loosest timings possible (for now) Then when your done OCing, tighten down the timings (smaller #'s) for better preformance. Also dont go above 2.9v for now... set it at 2.8 or around that, but no lower than 2.6

also set the DDR Frequency to DDR400 or higher if possible..

Are you using DDR? Those are voltages normally associated with DDR. Did you mix speeds of DDR also? I'm guessing you did with the "333/400" speeds in your profile.

the ddr i have allows me to use either 333 or 400 mhz for the frequency. the sticks are the same speeds. I just can not seem to get any higher than 215 x 17 anymore. Its so frustrating because I just had it at 4.114 Ghz yesterday

I see what you mean, thats a bummer ...Make shue all your connections are tight and that you didnt burn out anything when you were OCing.

aigh t well here is a little update, I have set all the defaults (lowest voltages) back and used a very loose timing. 3-5-5-15 for all the tests. I then raised the fsb frequecy up slowly ( if i try going from 200-215, it wont work) i got to 218 x 17 to work, x19 would fail. Then I raised the voltage on the cpu from 1.3375 to 1 .4 and slowly started raising it back up again to get to 218 then i got 219 to fail again. Then I raised the DDR Voltage from 2.5 to 2.7 but 21 9 still didnt work.
Now keep in mind my mobo either allows my to set the DDR frequency to 333, 400, or auto. The 400 setting doesnt work at all. The 33 3 is too low to overclock at all. The auto reclocks the DDR by itself and at 215, it makes the ddr freq. = to something around 358. Everytime I increase the CPU FSB frquency 1, the ddr freq. goes up by two.

So basically I cant find out how to raise the CPU freq. above 218 with the bios returning an error mesage, however 218 is perfectly stable and runs at 27 degrees Celcius.

WHAT DO I DO?
