Danger Den Case Owners Club!! - Page 14

It arrived in a flat box... filled with popcorn! YUCK! Hate that static-sticky popcorn!!!

Got all the bits and pieces out. Well packed, wrapped, and taped.

Got everything laid out and ran into two problems immediately...

1) They drilled the wrong size hole for my custom fillport on top! It was a 1" hole instead of a (nominal) 20mm hole I specified. So, I ordered a new fillport from them that will fit.

2)Soon as I started assembly, I discovered a piece that had holes which were not tapped like they were supposed to be.

Soo, dead in the water now and expect to hear from them Monday.

Sigh... such is life.

Welp, Danger Den making everything right. I went to the store and bought 2 taps (in case I broke one) and started putting it together.

Right away I noticed it wouldn't work the way I wanted with 53mm thick radiators, so more calls and such, having a new bottom made for an RX-240 instead of an RX-360.

So far. I am a little disappointed on a couple things, some edges not made square and tap holes missing etc... but it is a very pretty case!! I just need it to support two thick radiators in Push/Pull, possibly with 135CFM 38mm thick fans.

I'll try the 2 thick rads with ten 120x25mm 80cfm fans first... possibly it will be plenty and look better.

Also, the entire rear panel is a washboard of slit openings... somehow I need to filter the air because I could have anywhere from 250 to 400 cfm being pulled through by the rad fans... I have some idea of how to do it if I can find the right materials...

More updates and pics later...

Okay, it's been a long wait for parts and a lot of work... but this is my Custom LDR-29 build so far...

I am about to disassemble the 800D box and put the Mobo/Pump Res combo into the new box... long time coming...

Danger Den has never done this before, so we are both learning... so far so good. In the future, anyone else wants something like mine, they will be able to get it in better shape one hopes...
