got my used tower 26 couple days ago, came in great condition. couple problems/issues here and there but i think i finally found a case i'm going to stick with for awhile.
of course the fact that there is no exhaust fans kinda bums me out but i knew that going into it and i don't think i really need them tbh. i just need to trim my motherboards thermal armor so it fits on there with the water block. i have the assist fan already on there but i think it would work better with the cover.
the screws for the optical drives were too short for my monsoon res, i needed another 3mm or so. the screws for mounting to radiator were also too short since i wanted to mount the fans first to the panel then the radiator. and also had to pick up a couple m3 screws for mounting my sdd, the 6/32 were too big. No biggie though just a quick trip to the hardware store got everything i need.
i got my monsoon the same day i got the case. i was pretty excited and thought it would be a great combo, wrong. for one there's not enough clearance between the top panel and the top of the res, inhibiting my ability to put a 90 degree fitting for a fill port/line. so it's a little more involved when filling. What really kinda pissed me off though was how much noise it makes. it just shakes the hell out of case.
so i decided the monsoon was a waste and i should ditch it, and while i'm at it why not buy a 480 rad now that i have room? =]
gonna mount the d5 to a shoggy sandwhich and place it on the bottom hopefully fixing the noise, and of course the lovely rad res should leave filling a breeze.
problems solved, i hope =]
stay tuned for an update!
