old school radeon 7000 pci card

Thread Starter
i just bought a new asus a8n sli premium motherboard and i had to put an old pci radeon 7000 card in a pci slot should that work on an nforce4 motherboard or does it have to be an nvidia card for it to work. the problem im haveing is that i turn my system on monitor turns on for 30 sec then goes out. is it an incompatiblity between card and board or is it just a bad card.

My card works fine with my motherboard (9700 pro, nForce 2), so it must be the card.

sometimes its because the refresh rate is higher than the monitor can handle, and when the comp boots, it runs at 60 hz and then when windows starts it goes to 100 (if its set to 100)

it happened one time with me at a lan party when i used someone else's monitor
