This has been bothering me for awhile now, and I've had no luck in fixing this for the past week now.
I bought 2 sets of 6GB (3x 2GB module) Corsair DDR3 memory. The full details of it can be found here:
The issue is that Windows and the BIOS shows only 8GB of ram, in the DIMM slots A1, A2, C1 and C2. For some reason B1 and B2 doesn't detect. Programs, such as 3D Mark Vantage, CPU-Z, etc. detect the 12GB, but unfortunately can't "physically" use it.
So I've tried a few things. I've checked reviews, etc. that said it's an issue with the i7's not being seated properly in the CPU tray, so I pulled apart my computer (twice, and not easily either since the Sythe Mugen 2 cooler mounts into a section BEHIND the Motherboard) and re-sat the CPU, even though it looked fine.
My motherboard, by the way, is the Asus P6T Deluxe V2.
My second test was leaving only the B1 and B2 memory slots in (and also just B1, and also just B2), with the computer not booting. It's like it doesn't even detect it's there.
I'm worried it's a fault with the motherboard, but since the DIMM's are registered and viewable in CPU-Z, I'm hoping it's not (as it was bought interstate, and I'd have to send it abck and be without a PC for 2 weeks).
Any ideas AT ALL would be greatly appreciated.
