Yet another question...

Yes, I know. I am needy person in my pursuit of knowledge, but oh well. This question regards that I have an eMachines T2862 tower case. It seems like it would be a mATX type case. So, naturally, buying a new mobo in mATX size would be preferable. Thing is, my current mobo is 8.5"ish x 9.6" and it line up perfectly with everything. This new mobo, though, is 9.6" x 9.6", so I dont know if aforementioned mobo would be ideal. Once again, any input is helpful and worthy of my (OMG) rep power 1 rep+.

most of the time preconstructed computer companies use a Mobo that fits their case and limited to like 1-2 or no other mobo options. (so they can make money off your buy upselling another computer) or to keep the computer in their warrnty clauses.

Truthfully as long as you can get most of the motherboard to fit on some holes, thats really all you need, you dont need all the holes screwed in, just whatever ones to make it fit.

make sure the pci/agp slots match up though, otherwise you'll have an issue having those sit securely

Ah yes, of course. Corporate a-holes. The trouble is the mobo is coming from Newegg, and if it doesn't fit, that really would be irritating. That pretty much means I either take a chance, or buy a new tower.

No get some risers and a dremel and make some new holes if you need to. and if the back pannel i/o cluster (ps/2 mini dins, usb, vga connects, eathernet, etc) will fit the openning.

If your worried / unsure - You can get towers for like £15 here in UK thats not much US $ so if you can get a cheap tower for now you can always upgrade and you will be safe
