Mixing Kingston HyperX 1066 with OCZ Blade 1150... will it work??

Is this even a good idea?

There's this guy selling a 4gb kit of DDR2 RAM, OCZ Blade @ 1150mhz. 2x2gb

I currently have a 4gb kit of Kingston HyperX @ 1066. 2x2gb

I wanted to go for 8gb of RAM... just because

I know speeds aren't exactly an issue... however, my current kit requires 2.3v () to run at rated speed and timings (1066 @ 5-5-5-15).

The seller claims that the OCZ kit i'm interested in can do 1200mhz with 1.8v @ 5-5-5-15...

Would the voltage difference be a problem?

Hmmm... first time I've had no answers at all here at OCN...

Can't someone knowledgeable about memory tell me if different voltages (different kits) are a problem?

That's all I need to know...

Thanx in advance!

Are you sure your kit requires it? Like this OCZ kit rated at 2.1v can run 1.95v fine (maybe even lower.)

Essentially one of the kits is going to constrain you from pushing all the memory higher. You may have to just run 800mhz or something if you don't feel like tweaking. And trust me, you don't need 8gb in the first place. It will just hinder your overclock.

you need to put same voltage to both kit, which means you will overvolt the other kit.

and may kill those lovely blades
eFF it, i have 2x2gb hyper X that i'd trade for the blades
=D

these hyperXs are nice too; i ran them 1066mhz at 1.8v and was stable
never ran them faster or higher voltage; they are rated at 1066 at 2.1v or something
