Thread Starter
I have this card, the XT version, now, is it safe to use atitool and find max core? or does somebody have good safe clocks ? It might help, now running @ 550/384... I read some things about 630 and stuff, bit can this be done with standard cooling ?

ATI Tool is pretty safe. It immediately starts to back off the clocks as soon as artifacts appear. Since artifacts are one of the first signs of overheating, the programs automatically cools things down. I would suggest that you find your max core and memory and then back each of them off several MHz before applying the combined overclocks. One thing to remember with video cards is that they can take a lot more heat than processors in general.

As for the max overclock for that card, check out Chipp's FAQ on the subject. It has a long list of max overclocks obtained by members of this site.
