right have been playing a round a bit and if I back the cpu back to a round 2200 or even 2400mhz then my temps are good even at full load its sub ambent.

I have cheaked ever part of the water cooling and it good the cold plate is there tight in fact king bloody kong could not get it tighter so imo its just that the tec can not handly the heat at high overclocks and thats why i need a better one.

got the last one of the ebay caint fined it now (dead link) have found a other one but doint now any think about it was wondring if anyone has or could have look at it for me and see what there think.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/320Watt-Peltie...yZ42001QQssPag eNameZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

the pelt I am using now is rated at 320w 15v 26amps but there was no mention of d/t

this one clames to have a d/t off 69c

Anyway like I say any help people can give would be great thx

Note the part in the TEC Guide where it says that peltiers run best at around 50% rated voltage. That's because they're much more efficient there. As you more closely approach 100% rated voltage, the pelt's effiency goes down and it creates MUCH more heat per watt that it moves. Peltiers can essentially overload themselves with their own heat. In other words, if you under-volt your TEC to a point where it is low voltage but can still handle the heat load, your "full load" temps will be lower than they will at full voltage.

Edit: I can give my pelt as low as 5 volts and it still cools my CPU to sub-ambient temperatures, even at full load.

right time for a new up date fitted a new pelt to my system 320w 15v 26 amps

and its now a whole new ball game, got idle temp down to -1c and my full load temps to 2 to 3 dec below case temp so I am faily pleased overclock is back up two 2850mhz new recored for this chip

thx's for all the help all

If you've got adjustable voltage, you should experiment with it. You'll probably find that lower voltages will yield you higher idle temps, but lower load temps. Like I said before, the TEC almost overloads itself at full voltage, and that's probably why your load temps are barely under ambient. TEC's are an experiment to find their optimum voltage. Some are around 50% while others are closer to 80%. Play around in those ranges (which for your TEC would be 7.5 volts to around 12 volts) and let's get some more info on other TEC's.

can and will be playing with the voltage but right now I am still busy patting myself on the back that I have sorted it it use to be 12 to 16 c above case temp so this is a big inprovement

I'm using a 320W pelt, and mine is sub ambient even at full load. I'm using a seperate power supply @ 12V-24A. My watercooling setup is also NOT great. Im waiting to get a new one from DD.

but you are running a 939 chipset cpu instead off a 754 this run hotter I also have a high overclock than you

its not suprising it runs a little warmer, and when I say full load I mean working is balls off full speed ahead and like that it is only ever 2c over case temp
