If you have room by your computer for it, then sure why not. But you still have to have a nice starting point for your sound. Since the receiver is external it'll only output sound as good as it can get it. So to get the best sound you have to have a good sound card.

Damn I was hoping to actually just take a round IDE cable and change the pin configuration to match the X-FI hhhmmmm... maybe that's an idea for a new post? Unless anyone has done a header conversion on a standard IDE cable to make it match the X-FI?
