Quake 4 visual

Hey guys just wondering is it just me or does Quake 4's visuals look very bland. They aren't as crisp as wat Doom 3's are even though I'm running them at the same settings. Also Quake 4 looks abit choppy. As is the screen refresh rate isn't that good.

I downloaded the demo and played it, I was not impressed with the textures. Like you said they did not look as crisp as Doom3's were. I did not notice any choppy-ness, just crappy textures.

Doom 3 is a great looking game, I love the visual style, but the Doom 3 engine is in no way versatile. Quake 4, to me, looked considerably worse than Doom 3 and didn't run as well. Doom 3 may have its visual issues, but it's a very seamless, optimized experience - everything looks like it's supposed to and runs like it's supposed to. Visually, Quake 4 just makes me think that Raven didn't really know what they were doing with the Doom 3 engine, which is only really suited to one or two types of environment: dark corridors and Hell.
