Best PSU under $165 ?

Thread Starter
I am looking to upgrade my computer CPU and mobo not this Christmas but next, I think mine will be just fine until then.... I want to upgrade the PSU this Christmas so that I am not stuck paying another 150-200 next time when I will want to spend it on a CPU...

What is the best PSU out there that is future proof ??? a PSU that will be able to handle top hardware for a few years. Preferably under $165.

thanks for any help

the ocz powerstream line is know for their reliabilty. I know, it doesn't look all flashy and stuff, but in the end, i would rather have a working computer than a flashing broken computer.

Seasonic 600W will come in at that budget. It passed the last 2 reviews that the OCZ not only failed, but blew up on. If you can somehow find a PC&C on sale, get that. If not, get the Seasonic.

I have a 520w now, I don't think that will be good enough in a year with all the new M2 socket and CPU's and GPU's ... I need more futureproof and I know there's better PSU's than even a 600w powerstream.

thanks though... others please post!

I would recommend an Enermax 600w, 35 amps, sli, atx and btx. This is a great PSU.

So the Enermax 600w or the Seasonic ? I have heard great things about each. Maybe I can get the xtrememusic too (without great headphones) ...

This is the Enermax right ?
