Actually Yiffy, I read a post that specifically said that the FX60 and NOT the FX59 was a 3GHz single core and the only new dual core was called 5000+

EDIT/// I stand corrected, FX59 is indeed the 3GHz single core and FX60 is the 2.6Ghz dual core, i was just confused lol.

Well you read wrong apparently... More than one sources has quoted the FX-60 as being dual core 2.6GHz and the FX-59 being 3GHz. Why would it be any other way? The FX series have always gone up 2 numbers for every 200Mhz (FX-51 = 2.2GHz, FX-53 =2.4GHz, FX-55 = 2.6GHz, FX-57 = 2.8GHz), so logically the next step up, 3GHz, would be the FX-59.

I wonder why everyone is always fighting over Intel and AMD. Look its simple its a game that they play, Intel was moving ahead fast and hit a wall which gave AMD the chance to catch up and some people say pass them but it doesnt matter Intel will be back and if you want to compair benchmarks, then design one that is unbias for every computer. Most computers here can beat my rig in benchmarks but lets compare real tasks, video rendering or 3D rendering I'll win. An FX55 might beat one of Sun Systems $1.5 Million dollar 32 chip servers in aquamark but any idiot can see that that server is has more power.

IMO Bottom Line buy what you want and what is best for your situation and dont say Intel or AMD or ATI or Nvidia.

BTW: 80% of the processors in the world are Intel where as 18% are AMD, they aren't going anywhere soon...

Will AMD make versions of the FX-59 and FX-60 for socket 939?

I believe that an Intel Dothan oc'ed is the fastest cpu you can own as of right now. If Dothan Sli motherboards were out they would hold all of the 3D mark world records.
Look, dothans are great cpu's and great ocers, theres no question, but they just dont stack up to an athlon in gaming.

FX60 should come out before M2, so I'd assume it will be available for 939. Unless AMD is playing tricks on us, and the FX60 is the crowning glory for the launch of M2...

I will castrate anyone who mentions Intel/Dothan in this thread again.
