Updating BF2 - Page 2

Thread Starter
Weeell now, I have got the game to start

But now I get the dreaded unmodified content error

I'm using the MD5 trick as I saw in another thread here, I ran it and found 140 errors, ran the installer again (and it actually said patch succesful! no failure!) and got 98 errors. Ran the installer again and then MD5, still 98 errors

Delete the game directory in the My Documents folder and reinstall, install 1.03 then install the newest one.

I got it working after spending (literally) all of today uninstalling, reinstalling, patching 5 times in a row, uninstalling...

Its worked best by doing everything in safe mode, and patching several times in a row. I checked it with MD5 Summer everytime. I still get nearly 90 errors with the working setup. Got Special Forces too.

Wheres the overclock.net server gone???

Well I just noticed that it literally takes 10 minutes to log in BF2 and about 5 minutes to check your stats in BF2HQ, what is all this about? And also I got to my next rank but it still hasn't registered after half an hour? Anyone else experiencing this?

Yup. When I finally got it fired up it took a very long time to log in to the account server, then it took ages to load up the server list.

The BF2 Server was shutdown because of lack of use. Kinda sucks but, maybe a new one will go up for another game in the future.

The ea account server is down. Also try updating your punkbuster manually.
