Ok, My rig is slow, I want to oc it. What ram would you all recomend?
And what mainboard? And what cooling fan?
I'm looking to stay around 250-300 dollers could posible go over.
I have a 480 watt power supply.. Here are my cpu Specs.
===============
I got the p4 mPGA-478 Northwood. BrandID 9. Voltage 1.536v Acording to
CPUZ. Multiplier 15.0
It's got the 528 k Cache.
Family F, Model 2 Stepping 9
===============
So basicly I need good oc'n ram and a good mainboard and a good fan recomend. I'm looking to oc it to gain performance so I can play games better.
I currently just purchased an x700 pro 256 meg.

Thank you in advanced

What speed's would you recomend? I'm looking to hit the 3.6 mark if possible.
Or go higher If permited.

It is possible to hit 3.6ghz, or near it.
You need to follow theses steps:
Well first Try to hit 3.5ghz
-Set your RAM multiplier at 5:4 (If you have DDR400, if DDR466 or best use 1:1)
-Set your Core Voltage to 1.550v (This will give better stability, I have a Northwood 3.0 me too)
-Set your FSB at 233mhz
-Lock your AGP/PCI device to 66.6/33.3 if possible.

This should be it! If stable set your FSB right away to 238mhz. You might have Maxed your CPU using this configuration. It is possible to OC further, but at a serious cost of Voltage bump, thus Heat.

Gives us some Benches before and After!

Edit: Give us your Profil, write it in the CPuser Panel. We'll help better next time.
