Comcast Trouble

OK I AM SURE THIS HAS BEEN ADDRESSED, BUT.........this is what happens. i surf the net just fine. when im GAMING like HL2, or UNREAL, i get huge ping times. my friend is a block away, and all my other friends live about a mile away too, and ill ping at like 160 or sometimes up to 300 while they are all below 90. ALSO, sometimes my modem looses connection, then i have to shut down the computer and its fine then, until next time. i usually have to restart the computer 4 times a day to be able to re connect to the net. this is an on and off thing one month ill be fine the next i have to reboot 2 or 3 times a day. comcast has come out 4 times for this trouble and they do their little tests and say everything is fine, but ill log onto a game any prove to the guy that my ping times are ****ty!! they always say i dont know whats wrong. any SMART people here to help?

Check the cable connection, remove it, clip off a peice and then reconnect, it might be a bad peice of wire.

Do you have an old splitter? They might be upgrading your service, that has happened to me before, where i have been in a server with a 300 ping and my friend who is about 5 miles away in the same town has a 50 ping. But, check for a bad splitter.

i have no splitter, its straight from the pole to the wall, and direct to my cable moden, and as for them upgrading the service i asked that too, and they arent , this has been happening for 2 months now, in fact 4 times today i had to reboot my computer just to access the internet.........

yea, well it happened to me, usually friday nights around 7pm and then on sunday afternoons around 4ish. Did you try re-installing your drivers for your NIC card?

I can help ya if its a problem with comcast but from what you have said so far is doesnt sound like it is...

See if any stepps in there shed any light on your issue.
Now your saying you lose your connection but restarting just your computer fixes it? if that is the case it is not comcast, its not the modem, not a router... has to be the computer, but pls give us a little more info... Is it really just a computer reboot that fixes it?
