I suppose you want to stick to the general genre of gaming, such as the view and character type. Ie, you're not looking for an FPS with necromancers in it unless it's an RPG FPS perhaps. I'll go with that.Any D&D based game.
Baldur's Gate 1, 2. Icewind Dale 1, 2. Neverwinter Nights 1, 2. These games have Necromancers, and even more specifically Liches
. You summon undead. You can literally become undead yourself. You level through classes and select feats to give yourself more powers. So in NWN1 and NWN2 for example, you can start off as a Wizard or Sorcerer or even a Cleric and fine tune your spells and feats to the purpose of summoning undead, commanding undead (taking control of them for example) and being undead-like yourself. A Palemaster in the NWN series for example, becomes undead himself and can summon undead. Both the divine and arcane spell casters can pretty much get undead minions in the game. These games are incredibly long and are story driven with tons of game play. I suggest any of the package deals. I highly recommend Icewind Dale series and Neverwinter Nights series--you could play for months straight on those alone and still have things to do.Guild Wars
. This game has several expansions with tons and tons of game play. The story is less the driving point as it's a pseudo-MMO. I say pseudo because it's not a true MMO. You can play the whole game by yourself, with computer controlled party members to fill in roles that you need. The necromancer in the game can summon quite a few undead. You can also mix classes so you can do more than that, from being a warrior or ranger to being a healer or elementalist and other such stuff. It's completely free online to play too. It's a 3rd person to first person experience though, so not quite the same as the isometric views of D2 and the D&D games listed above.Morrowind & Oblivion
. These games are more limited, but contain Necromancer elements. You can be nearly anything, but also, have the ability to summon the undead. It's probably the least like what you're looking for, but the games are nice (morrowind is superior in my opinion story wise). They are great RPG action games (3rd person and first person) with open systems that let you run around sand box style and train multiple classes at any time to be whatever you want. Happens to include summoning undead and all that.
