Hey, I was wondering what the best video card is for under $235 bux. Im in desperate need of a new graphics card (i got a 5900se card currently....). So, any idea. I don't really care what company it is, (nVidia, or ATI). Thanks guys!

Josh

6800GS all the way, it is on par with the 6800GT at most times but costs much less.

Only $209

The card has to be AGP. I heard that some ATI x800xt can be flashed to the x850xtPE speeds. Are there any sweet deals like that. Also whats the difference between a x800GTO and a X800GTO2 (any proformance difference, or overclocking abitlies that differ?). How is the nVidia 6800GS? Whats the difference between the GS and GT (preformance difference, overclocking abilities?).

Write back fast thanks!

6800GS is way cheaper than the 6800GT but gets around the same performance as the GT's. However the GS lacks the 4 extra pipelines that the GT has, but you can most likely unlock them with RivaTuner. They are both GDDR3 memory too. Get the GS for best bang for the buck.

From the reviews I have read it runs cooler than the 6800gt and is a good overclocker too. Im thinking of buying it too

Here is a quoted from somebody about overclocked...
"I got this card OC'd stable at 525/1300 , it can go to 1350 but not sure if its 100% stable. And yes i game fear and cs/dod at 525/1300 and its fine."

If you had your computer watercooled I'd say buy my GT... but you don't. Have a look around the FS section, they (GTs) come up every so often for about that price.

You cant unlock anything on the 6800GS. The 4 pipes and 1 vertex shader do not evene exist on the 6800GS. But wait until the 6800GS comes out in AGP and get that card.

By the way, the 6800GS that OJX linked you is PCI-E. Rumors say the AGP version will come out in January 06. I would wait until then before making your purchase.
