I'm pretty damn excited right now, because I have three things going to be shipped or already shipped and hopefully arriving next week.

First thing is my OCZ power supply. I can not wait for this thing, because I'll finally be able to do some cable management and maybe even OC my CPU!

Second is the EVGA 7950GT KO from Val's sale/Clockadile's donation. It'll be a huge upgrade from this x1550, and a good card to sit on until I have money for something even better. (CF 5770s? a 5870? Maybe a 5970!?!?)

Even better, once I get those two, I'll be able to put the old items back into my old PC, then give it to my brother, who's using a broke-old Pentium 4, 256MB RAM, and an Nvidia Riva TNT2.

The third thing coming, and sadly enough, one I'm really excited about, is a new mousepad! The one I'm using now is 9 1/2" x 8" and it's probably 10 years old. The one I bought is THIS ONE! Which measures to 17"x11"!! I cleared off my desk in preparation for it, and I can't wait.

Looking at all the casemods on OCN really makes me want to spraypaint/powder coat my HAF. The inside just looks disgusting, even though I never even look at it. I don't know, it's just something I want to do. Maybe if my mobo blows up (I hope it never does), I'll do it.

Have to go to work in a minute, but I wanted to ask for some help overclocking this pos.

Apparently I have terrible luck overclocking, because every time I try it ends up underclocking. (My old athlon went from like, 2.whatever to 1.0)

I just followed this guide
http://www.overclock.net/intel-cpus/...7-920-4-a.html
and following the Quick and Dirty method I ended up with around 2500mhz while running P95.

I don't get it.....at all. All power saving features were off, everything was set exactly how the tutorial says to.

On top of that, the computer was taking forever to start. After a BIOS reboot, the fans would start spinning, then 10 minutes later the PC would beep and start up. What the hell is that?

I ended up resetting my CMOS and just going stock, but I still want to OC it.

All help is appreciated.

I really can't justify buying a PSU for 150$, then needing to upgrade it two months later when I have two 5970's in xfire, or whatever I end up doing. Figured I'd buy a 1000w for 60$ now and save myself the trouble.

Also, if anybody wants to help me with my overclock, or help get it noticed, that'd be nice. I changed JUST my BCLK to 200, leaving everything else AUTO, and I was at 1.41 volts, at 4.0

Also, as far as RAM goes, how do I know what to set the timings at if I put it at, say 1600mhz?

Set your dram timings to manufacturer specs@ dram timing control
disable cpu & pcie spread spectrum

if you manually set UCLK freq, it needs to be twice dram freq

try some of these, might help you

nice build btw

edit> 1000w is nice to have

2x 5970 might push a 750W a bit but an 800-850 would cover it nicely

doesnt really matter since you got you 1000W PSU already. youll have everything covered and then some
