Get the Ripjaws, the name sounds like an indecent sex act.

Looking for 2000MHz because I'm probably going to have to underclock the RAM in order to achieve a higher CPU overclock.

tridents got my i7 920 up to 4620 mhz!!! I might have killed them though but that might be from setting their voltage at 1.85 o_0 great price and Ive run them up to 2150mhz!!!

ericeod: 6-7-6-18 1T at 1600mhz damn!!!!!

I've been running mine at 8-8-8-19 1T on my bloodrage and i7

Im gonna give those a try and see if I can get some better prime scores or pifast or whatever works best at those speeds

by any chance you know any good timings for 1760 or thereabout, I kept 8-8-8-19 abouts but my trfc was up near 100 maybe even more depending on my BLK

6-7-6 = no go at 4.2mhz lots of beeps coming from my mobo :/

Either Trident or RipJaws would be great. I disagree with 1600 and 2000 being the same or little difference though... Even 1600 CL6 vs. 2000 CL8 was a great enough difference for me and worth purchasing than 1600. If I remember correctly 3D was a 3k difference between the two, that's like 10-15% easy.

Where? I just found them @ $199 in newegg.

I was just researching about these modules like 30 min ago for a possible i7 build.

As far as my research went on, these modules are about the same thing, only difference is the profile of the heatspreader. Also, in their DDR3 2000mhz version, there is only a little dif, the trident being a little bit tighter in the timings. But i have no clue as to a possible typographical mistake, or if it´s really true.

But to tell the truth, comparing between 27 to 24 is like comparing a knife with a dagger. About the same crappyjuice, and both have the same price. So go for the design you prefer.

Yea, old thread is old ...

They would occasionally drop down to the $140 range before Newegg updated all their shipping and costs and such. I don't buy much from Newegg anymore, the prices aren't what they used to be.

Trident > RipJaws

Heatspreader and IC chips

The Trident also had 1600 6-7-6-18 like the Mushkins, but just like them, out of stock as well. Good thing is you should be able to downclock the Tridents to those specs anyway.

... dang this thread is dang old. lol
