So much confusion with these Asus X58 boards... P6T deluxe is NOT the same as P6TD Deluxe. P6T Deluxe V2 has no "D".

AFAIK, P6T Deluxe (v1) came first, then came V2 which dropped SAS, followed by the P6TD Deluxe which upped the phase to 16+3 from 16+2, dropped the FDC, and comes with stack cool 3+, whereas the others all have stack cool 2.

So 3 revisions of the deluxe. V1, V2, and "D".

Hope this helps someone (gimme rep lol), and it raises the question - WHY so many revisions with such tiny, crappy differences? Does anyone know if stack cool 3+ is actually any better than stack cool 2?

So according to him, all P6T Deluxe boards except the P6TD are discontinued. The deluxe v2 is taking final orders - *** didn't that just come out? I just bought a V2 but haven't opened it yet - thinking about swapping for the D.

If anyone knows of any benches etc comparing the new pcb design and stack cool 2 vs 3+ plz put them up here

the real question is though, how good is this "improved pcb design" & "stack cool 3+" over the "old pcb design" and "stack cool 2"

the only other difference is the missing fdc on the new D model. and D doesn't stand for deluxe, it's their new "extreme" tag, ie incorporating sc3+ and the pcb changes.

Here are my settings for my Asrock X58 Extreme at 3.8ghz 24/7 stable. Finally stable with OCCT and at decent temps. I haven't tried a lower CPU voltage, but it could work as I have a pretty low vid. My next goal is to get 4.0ghz running.

CPU-Z Validation

BLCK: 200
PCI-E: 100

CPU Ratio: 19
QPI: 7.2
Uncore: 3600
DRAM: 2000mhz

Without Vdroop
CPU Voltage: 1.300v (actual 1.28)
DRAM Voltage: 1.609v
IOH Voltage: 1.364v
VTT Voltage: 1.410v
ICH Voltage: 1.364v
IOH/CSI Voltage: 1.46v
IOH/ICH PCI-E Voltage: 1.56
CPU PLL: 1.96v

is this all the higher u could get or just keepin it low for temp reasons?

thanks!

That's a typo. It should state 2000mhz. =P Fixed.

This is the highest I've successfully got it to pass OCCT while keeping temps lower. Temps were getting in the 80C's with it running at 4.0ghz or higher as I was putting in too much cpu vcore. I need to tweak with the settings to find the right balance for 4.0ghz, which I plan to do tonight since it's my day off. =)
