card mem vs. Ram

if i get more Ram, say 2gb (total), and a vid/card with 128mb on it, would the card use the Ram just like if it had 256 onboard?
I hope i have asked the question clearly enough, i hardly understand it myself,lol.

The video card has it's own memory unless you get something such as a geforce 6200 that has turbocache supporting it, which uses some system memory. Your video card does not use the system memory to do its thing, although your system will use it a good bit while playing games and what not that use the video card.

The video card itself has it's own memory and you can't add more .
Just get the video card you will be running okay with a 512 mb stick on your desktop.
