man. who said that the opty 148 CAB2E was a crappy stepping? check mine out:

3.0 GHz CPU-Z Verified

running 1:1 with my Transcend @ 273 MHz (until i get my GSkills back). i couldnt do this for the longest time and was blaming my CPU, but it turns out i just needed to add an extra .03v to my vdimm. go figure!

its prime stable @ 1.6v too! im slowly trying to work it down. priming at 1.58v now. opterownage, baby!

Someone said CAB2E was a bad stepping? Alot of people place it over CABYE. 3GHz at that low of voltage is pretty good. I can prime as low as 1.6ish but I'm not exactly stable in games. Random crashes and such. Good luck!

yea. the only reason the CABYE/CABNE are ranked higher are because they have the same results with lower voltage. im slowly burning in my CPU and maybe when i feel like it, shoot for 3.1 GHz. lol.

The date of production has a bit to do with the overall OCing... not to mention the equipment it's in as well the hands and brain behind it

Hey guys, just for a bit of reference, what do you guys think of two 3.2Ghz P4 Northwood and 3800+ AMD64 Venice? I have 2 computers running those two chips, and my upgrade money only goes to one so just wanted to make sure my money make use out of it.

Eagles: I'm highly doubting it. Most likely it is the software reading wrong. Try speed fan and see what it says your voltage is.
