I want to use my GTS 250 for Physx and my GTX 460 as my main. First, will I have enough power? Also, do I need to use the SLI bridge for Physx and install drivers for the GTS 250 or would I be okay without the bridge and just using GTX 460 drivers?

Just select the 250 for physX in the nvidia control panel setting. As it will allow you to choose what card you want to allow to do it. And you don't need a sli-bridge for it.

Okay cool thanks. Do you think 630W is enough for that?

I would say yes since the 260 requires less power then a 8800/9800 gpu. As that card isn't that big of a power drawing gpu. I believe you to be fine with both cards.

My question is, is it worth the increased temp's and power usage? Since my GTS250 will be blocking airflow to my GTX460, is it worth it still? Just for a dedicated PhysX card?

There has been a lot of debate in various forums. My personnel answer is no PhysX is a gimmick. I have played with a dedicated PhysX card works great in the various PhysX demo's but in games I cant help but think "meh..... surely the processor can do this".

Long term i cant see a big future for PhysX, developers are not going to spend hundreds or even thousands of hours heavily incorporating it into games that only there Nvidia customers can use without some sort of direct incentive from Nvidia, it just doesn't make economic sense.

I say sell your GTS250 and buy some beer, you will get more out of it

Love it

I actually read this forum went out and bought a evga gt 430 video card and tested it as dedicated phsx. I saw no improvement in gaming like batman, or even metro 2033. My gtx 570 runs it all with no prob.

I recently bought a 9800 GT to use as a physx card but cannot get it to be recognised in device manager or the nvidia control panel. Uninstalled the drivers, shut down and installed the 9800 booted up and installed the drivers again and restarted. Low and behold it's not recognised. I tried the same thing but with the 9800 plugged into a spare monitor but still it's not recognised, maybe I've gone wrong somewhere who knows ? Help would be much appreciated
