Pretty sure I would benefit. But not sure by how much or at all.

No, in most cases you won't benefit. You need something in the lines of 8800GT / GT240 AFAIK.

Just installed a GTX 670 FTW to replace old 8800gtx (i7-200k win7 64 bit system)

Is there any benefit to adding the old card back into the system, or will it ultimately just slow things down?
The 8800GTX still has very decent performance, so yes keep it in your system for better PhysX performance.

I'd bench it. One test without 8800gt, one with. Check if you get any performance gain, if not, then sell it or use it in another build

If you are going to bench the physX card, make sure you use real-world i.e. gaming tests, not Fluidmark. Try the Batman in-game benchmarks, and Mafia 2 bench, for example.

To be totally honest I'd leave it out except for maybe throwing it in when playing a physX game IF the benches show that it actually helps. It may not help much though even then, and there's not much point of having it installed when you're not playing a physX game, it'll just add heat and noise.

This was my initial thought. Next time I crack my machine open, I'll toss it in there and see what happens. Need to get my system tuned as it is first though.

Thanks for the replies!

Would adding a Quadro NVS 295 to my sig rig do anything for me in terms of performance? I can get it for free. I'm assuming it won't be beneficial.

It may even hurt performance

It only has 8 cuda cores. Terrible.

That's what I thought. Thanks for the input.
