These setups ARE RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Could you just somehow take a mini-fridge and leave it open, take the door off and someway link it to your pc? Or do the same for an air conditioner?

ok, maybe this is stupid but why do you need such low temperatures? Does this mean you could use like 1.7 or so vcore to overclock and not damage the CPU? Be nice when you explain this is the first time i've seen these things and its impressive but why? thanks and happy new year!

Yeah, pretty much too much heat and voltage (or any combination) will make the chip electromigrate. That's where the metal itself essentially gets slowly taken away till it doesn't work. You can run the chip n a dust-clogged stock air cooler, and it'll be perfectly happy at 100*, but if you up the voltage and put on a better cooler which keeps it at 100* at the new voltage, it will start to electromigrate. Also, it can electromigrate at very different amounts, you try a 100% overclock on air and it will die pretty quickly, but 25% and it'll take a while. Since chips are more or less worthless after 5 years anyways, there's no point in letting it like any longer than that

so basically after a certain vcore it will start deteriorating? So then why the extreme low temps, do these increase the lifespan under higher vcore?
