Option in BIOS question?

Thread Starter
My BIOS has a thing is it labeled HT Frequency Ratio. It can be set to 1x, 2x, 2.5x, 3x, and 4x. What should I set this on. Also, what should I set my CPU Thermal Throttling to.

Throttling = Disabled/Off

HTT depends on your FSB, when multiplied they should equal 1000 but not go over.

Example:
200 FSB x 5 HTT = 1000
200-250 FSB would need a 4x HTT multi
250 FSB+ would need a 3x HTT multi

Well I am at stock FSB (200) and the HT freguency Ratio is set a 3x. So I need to up my FSB to like 250 and leave the HT freguency Ratio at 3x.

Oh wait you have socket 754 so they need to add up to 800 rather than 1000 ooops. So 3x is fine for anything over stock 200 FSB until you hit over 266 FSB when you'd need to drop to 2x.

Thanks so far, now I have a few more questions.

1) Chipset Voltage, leave stock, or up it.
2) AGP Voltage, leave it stock, or up it.
3) What is K8 CPU Clock Ratio. I can leave it on auto or I can set it from x5 to x10.

Chipset - Raise it maybe .1-.2v if you're gonna OC your rig.
AGP - Leave it stock, there's no benefit to raising it.
Clock Ratio is your CPU multiplier. 10x times your FSB = your CPU speed. 10x200 FSB = 2000MHz.

So leave the K8 CPU Clock Ratio alone?

Yeah 10x is fine. Unless you have some crazy RAM that gets like 300 FSB and you wanna drop it to 9x (9x300=2700MHz).
Just remember the formula: CPU Multiplier x FSB = Clock Speed.
