Thread Starter
I've got an Intel P4 3.0Ghz Processor (1Mb Cache, 800Mhz Bus, LGA775) on Intel D915GAV, as i suspected i can't overclock on my current board... so i am planning to upgrade to something else (just board) so Can someone please tell me which baord to get?.. (it'll be better if u tell me ASUS Boards as they are easily available in ,my country) Here's a bit info about my pc and my applications:

Processor: 530 3.0 Ghz 800Mhz FSB, 1MB L2 Cache
Ram: Kingston Value Ram 400Mhz 512MB x2 (1Gb total, planning to upgrade to 2Gb with two more same memories)

Cooling: Stock Cooling (I live in a hot country, but its winter nowadays

and yeah ... i have to buy a Video card too ... so please suggest something about that too .. and comment on nVidia 6800 (or 6600?)

and i use my PC for :
3d rendering etc... (3Ds Max 7)
Extreme 3d gaming
lots of programs running.,,,
lots of programs installed (60 +)

I thank you all for your help in advance..

Welcome to the forums.

An Asus board would certainly do well for your system, and one of the Asus boards is generally considered the best S775 board on the market. If you have a budget in mind, please share that so we can pick an appropriate board.

Both the 6600 and 6800 are decent video cards, but if extreme gaming is one of your goals, you may want to invest in the higher end cards that are on the market (7800 and x1800). A budget would be helpful in suggesting video cards as well (also, which cards/manufacturers are readily available in your neck of the woods).

When you have a moment, please fill in your system specs by clicking on User CP near the upper left corner of every page.
