Ok... finally can replace that garbage that was here and replace it with an actual vid that works.

I managed to finish my stealth drive over last weekend.

Here is the drive in snazzy black

The drive installed in my HAF

And with the HAF drive cover attached to the optical drive

.

and just for good measure here is link to a short vid showing my drive doing its opening thing...

Love the stealth drive. How much did you pay for the 6 channel Lamptron? I may pick me one up if they're not too outrageous

I can sure try...but as i said in my log somewhere, a lot of the photos i had taken of the optical stealth drive were corrupted when i was transferring them...so not sure how comprehensive it will be. I'll work on it over the next week or so (wish i had more time to do sooner)

yeah, I know how that goes, I pulled one of my SD cards out of my drawer and it had some weird circle like it had been crunched in or stamped and it said the memory card was locked and inaccessible. I tried to unlock but nope. Then the switch for it fell out lol. But yeah man, whenever you get the chance, I'd appreciate it.

What kinda stuff did you do, cause all I'm thinking that it would take would be a layer of foam padding (like the anti-slide stuff for rugs). My plans were to cut the sides/tabs off the drive bay cover, put a layer of the foam stuff in it, remove the original front part off the ODD, then glue the original drive bay cover on. How'd you manage to do it without having to make a button?

Thats pretty much it..although i did cut down the metal sides of the ODD as well. if you look at the pics here http://www.overclock.net/case-mod-wo...ml#post8369863 you can see that i cut down the shaft of a rivet, drilled a hole in the perspex that i place between mesh and plastic bezel surround in line with the open/close button, and glued shaft in place. That way, when i press lower R/H corner shaft presses button and hey presto.... which is sort of what i hoped would show up in vid.... posting the vid was much harder than i thought.

oooooh, I like that drilled down rivet idea. I'm gonna try to come up with a similar method of doing it, so that all I need to do is buy the foam stuff to cover the front. may even just get something super thin and use some 4010 tape to attach it
